AFP has an amazing team of hardworking, professional, and passionate employees. This month’s employee spotlight is featuring Alayna Pederson.
Alayna is from Canby, MN, and is a marketing intern at AFP. She is currently in her last semester of graduate school at The University of South Dakota and will receive her MBA with an emphasis in marketing at the end of the summer. Working at AFP has helped Alayna gain a lot of experience in marketing. She has done a great job of meeting and exceeding AFP’s marketing goals.
Alayna grew up in Canby. The Pederson household was a volleyball family- her mom was the varsity volleyball coach for 12 years and Alayna played volleyball alongside her sister all through high school. She loved living right across the street from her school and gym. Alayna spent all of her summers on the lake and loves to spend her free time there with her family and her two yellow labs, Boo Boo and Blu. She loves to go boating, and her favorite water sport is wake surfing!
When she graduated from high school, she decided to attend USD for her undergrad and become a Coyote. During her undergraduate career, Alayna participated in Greek life and joined Alpha Xi Delta her freshman year. During her time at Alpha Xi Delta she met some of her lifelong friends. Greek life helped teach Alayna how to be involved, to always be ambitious, and it has motivated her to achieve her goals. Alayna originally went to USD for business administration and soon found her passion for digital marketing. She joined the American Marketing Association in her sophomore year, where she was Vice President of Recruitment. Her time as a member of the AMA drove her to change her major to Marketing, and she also picked up a minor in Social Media. Alayna graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in May 2019. She decided to continue to pursue her marketing passion and started her graduate school journey the following fall. After a long and stressful year and a half, she is almost done with her education and will receive her MBA with a specialization in Marketing in August.
Once she completes her education and her internship, she will be moving to Sioux Falls, SD, to start her professional career. Alayna chose to pursue marketing because it is a field that has a great scope for innovation and creativity and is not as limited by rules and regulations. Marketing is a core aspect of any business; there is always something to be learned and many industries to explore.
AFP wants to congratulate Alayna for her successful internship this summer. We have been very lucky to have her as a part of our team. Many of you have reached out with positive comments regarding out email blasts, especially the Employee Spotlight series. Alayna has made this possible and we are so thankful!
